It’s about the students
Digital Transformation in Potash Mining is about providing students with the opportunity to build fulfilling careers and be role models for generations to come. The course is built to give the students the foundational knowledge of potash mining and automation, provide hands-on training, and connect the students to careers.
Partnerships
Digital Transformation is the result of multiple partners working together to support student success. Partners include Mosaic, Cowessess First Nation, Gabriel Dumont Institute, International Minerals Innovation Institute, and Morris Interactive. Combining different perspectives throughout the development and delivery of Digital Transformation is what makes it unique.
Truth and Reconciliation
The course aligns with Call to Action 92; Economic Reconciliation:
Committing to true collaboration through consultation and authentic relationships with Nation partners
Ensuring Indigenous individuals have equitable access to training and jobs to build long-term economic benefit
Ensuring corporate sponsors of the course undertake Indigenous training related to historic experiences, treaties, the legacy of residential schools, and more.
Industry Support and Sponsorship
As part of the course, Industry and corporate sponsors support the students and provide employment opportunities. Prior to the practicum, a career fair is hosted, giving the students the opportunity to interview with sponsoring companies.
