Cordell Makokis has a passion for First Nations Business Development and Economic Growth. With over 15 yrs experience in Government& Indigenous Relations, Indigenous Consultation and Economic Development, with specific growth and success in Treaties 4,6,7 & 8. Cordell is great at creating meaningful employment opportunities, finding successful partnerships thus creating Economic Growth and Sovereign ownership for First Nations within Turtle Island.

Born and raised in Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Cordell enjoyed and excelled in many sports and is currently active in Hockey and Golf. Today he continues to share his knowledge through coaching and mentorship programs. Part owner and creator of the Warrior Golf Ltd. brand their focus is on growing the game of Golf within First Nations Territory. Here he continues to be a voice for Indigenous athletes, forging partnerships and opportunities for theI ndigenous People.

Cordell would like to honor and thank his knowledge keepers for continuing to support and share the Nehiyo (Cree) way of life. He lives and works by these 7 teachings. Respect, Bravery, Truth, Honesty, Humility, Wisdom and Love.

Cordell currently lives in Enoch Cree Nation (Treaty 6) with his Wife Cayley and 3 Children, Kieron, Soraya and Elijah where he continues to walk and merge both Nehiyaw and western ways of life.

Cordell is excited to support the Morris Interactive team where they aim to support Indigenous communities with building capacity, community projects, short and long-term planning, interim expertise, and learning engagements.
