Mr. Kevin Scissons spent 38 years as a national and provincial regulator, including the Director of the Uranium Mines and Mills Division of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) from 2003 to 2011. He retired in 2012, and still continues to consult nationally and internationally. His fourteen staff of the Saskatoon Division led the CNSC’s compliance and licensing activities for operating or recently decommissioned uranium mines and processing facilities, and assessing the proposals for any other new uranium mines or processing facilities in Canada. He still continues to  participate in national and international symposiums, consultancies, public meetings, and workshops on all phases of uranium mines, mills, or other industrial facilities, concerning regulatory approaches to health, safety and the environment.
