Senior Consultant (Full-Time)
In response to increasing project volumes in our Consulting, Training and LINK Business Services, we are seeking professionals with direct experience working with First Nations and Métis organizations in addition to serving our private sector, governmental and non-profit client base. This position is based in Saskatoon located within Treaty 6 Territory and Homeland of the Métis, however we will consider remote options based on candidate fit.  This particular role is created for a full-time professional to join the Morris Interactive team.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

  • Project leadership, vision, accountability, and management of new and existing projects and defining new projects on behalf of the Morris Interactive team based on client need
  • Provide oversight in the development and review of proposals for funding, accuracy of budget and completion of reporting requirements for Indigenous Services Canada and related funding entities
  • Provide consultation on-going management of proposals including accessing funding agreements and ensuring reporting compliance      
  • Experience with First Nation and Métis community operations and maintenance in the delivery of all programs and services
  • Ensure all decisions and actions meet relevant federal legislation, policies and procedures, while presenting creative business cases to relevant stakeholders that represent the client’s best interest
  • Ability to facilitate strategic direction, organizational vision and objectives set by client
  • Actively manage multiple priorities, team member accountabilities and client requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership on moving client project ideas forward into proposals that contain elements of grant funding, debt and equity
  • Assessing organizational situations, gathering data and evaluating risk
  • Advance the management capacity of our clients through both creative and proven solutions grounded in strong governance
  • Establishing tools and processes to sustain business growth and to better understand the health of organizations
  • The utilization of accurate data to make sound business decisions and set measurable goals to proactively manage client needs
  • Facilitating group discussion, training sessions and workshops in areas of your subject matter expertise
  • Working as an integral part of the Morris Interactive project team on larger projects requiring financial, governance, human resources and business strategy expertise

Candidate professional qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience employed as a Management Professional (generalist or specialist, intermediate to veteran levels)
  • CPA, CFA, CAFM, CPHR, MBA or related professional designations are an asset, but not required
  • Experience working with First Nations and Métis organizations and communities
  • Experience working with the First Nations Financial Management Board and familiarity with federal funding agreements/arrangements is an asset
  • Experience in economic development, governance, health, child and family services and management consulting is an asset
  • Relevant post-secondary education
  • English language fluency (oral and written)
  • Fluency in Indigenous languages and knowledge of cultures and protocols is an asset
  • Exceptional communication skills (speaking, listening, comprehension, etc.)
  • Exceptional research and writing skills (policy and process/protocol development, finance policy manuals, etc.)
  • Superior people skills and emotional intelligence (friendly, approachable, open, outgoing, other-focused)

  • Canadian Residency (Saskatchewan preferred)
