Last week, after picking up my daughter at daycare, I was approached by a stranger.

She said, “Excuse me, I am with West Jet and we are doing random acts of kindness, and I thought your daughter might like this coloring book and crayon?”

I said “Sure thanks!” and offered the items to my daughter.

My daughter was totally pumped.  A new crayon and coloring book from a complete stranger?  What a concept.  She was baffled as to what prompted this and how we could have been so lucky to have been chosen for this wonderful gift.
And you know what, so was I!  But more than that, I wondered whose awesome idea it was to send out employees to do random acts of kindness.  What an excellent method to advertise your company and your company’s philosophy to people who might otherwise never know.
My daughter and I will always remember that special day we received our gift from the West Jet lady.  And now my daughter knows exactly who West Jet is and where they fly, because we immediately had to go home and google them to look at the big planes!!!
